The cloud hub runs a connector software that wraps all the available services and exposes them to the internet through a set of APIs. In our original design, the API endpoints were protected using Auth0 as the authentication server and AWS API Gateway to proxy the incoming requests to the backend APIs.

NEWTON fab lab architecture is a distributed and loosely coupled hardware/software infrastructure that allows remote access to digital fabrication resources as well as fab lab networking and communication.

NEWTON fab labs are a complex distributed system. The networked fab labs need to be integrated and seamlessly managed with a unique and flexible interface that must expose all the underlying infrastructure as a web service and provide the developers with tools to expand and enhance the software infrastructure.
